Today Jen found the manual for the sewing machine for me, and I sat down and I learned how to use it. I FUCKING LOVE IT. Measuring and pinning fabric is tedious, but using the machine is super fun. I like winding the bobbin and threading the needle. I don’t know what kind of voodoo goes on inside, but when that needle goes in and then comes back up with the loop of bobbin thread on it, it kind of blows my mind.

Anyway, armed with my new knowledge, I hemmed curtains. Wooo. Not very exciting, but I had a blast! Our bedroom curtains used to drag all over the floor and I hated it, so I cut them off and hemmed them up just below the level of the sill. And I recently replaced the closet door in my office with curtains, so I shortened them so they just touch the floor, and hemmed them.
